well, first there is the sheer complexity of the work... I'd seen bits and pieces in other photos (and the portions that extend to your arms), but never a complete view of your back! and there's also the quality of the art.
secondly, because I can't quite figure out the meaning of it all. I can see that there is some sort of apocalyptic upheaval going on in the world, at the bottom of the drawing... famous landmarks all being swept up, as water falls past giant, long-nailed fingers... above is that veiled female face... a divinity? a tear is coming out of one of her eyes, which makes me think that the fingers at the very bottom are hers... perhaps she is destroying the world and yet regretting that destruction... makes me think of certain tales from the Old Testament (the flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, etc). OR, perhaps she is trying to protect the world, keeping it from getting even more f-ed up... and I haven't even gotten around to the eagle and the pegasus that are on your shoulder blades... or the mermaid and the butterfly to the sides of the woman's visage (word snob alert!)...
(I know you had once said that I should feel free to ask you about your tattoos, so maybe I'll shoot you a private message with my questions, if you prefer.)
that is pretty much the goal haha. my belief is that we build our own destiny's and we are the creators of our own paths. if you don't like something fix it or change it. no one will do it for you and most certainly not an imaginary god.
I'll be real honest and accept the possible scorn lol: I have real sensitive skin and I'm poor or I'd have had some by now, am 39. I've always had this fantasy about a sci-fi sleeve and a fantasy sleeve, given that I'm a Libra and like balance.
yeah I'm a capricorn and needed symetry in my tattoos. I couldn't get one half sleeve without the other or one leg without the other so I Understand. Also that's ok it took me 12 years to finish my back because it hurt to much. No scorn here. Move at your own pace and if you never get them at least you know what you would have liked to have.
